Serves 4
340 Calories per serving
1 lb | Ground Sirloin or Ground Turkey |
1 tsp | Salt |
½ tsp | Black Pepper |
1 Tbsp | Canola Oil |
1 large | Red Onion, diced |
4 | Slices Swiss Cheese |
8 | Slices Rye Bread, toasted |
- Season the meat with the salt & pepper & form into 4 large, think patties. Heat the oil in a cast-iron skillet over medium heat. Add the patties & Scatter the onion around the burgers. Stir the onion from time to time to keep it from burning
- Cook the burgers for 3-4 minutes, then flip & immediately cover each with a slice of Swiss. Continue cooking until the burgers are cooked all the way through, about another 3 minutes. Remove, place on top of the toasted rye, cover with the sautéed onions, & top with other slice of rye.
